Independent studio · Cagnes-sur-Mer, French Riviera

An independent visual identity studio, built for the craft that deserves to be seen.

I design identities that hold: coherent, recognisable, grounded in strategy written before the first mark.

I care about the details most people miss, because those details separate a polished brand from a merely pretty one.

The process is structured without being rigid. I guide, I decide, I hold a point of view.

The goal fits in one sentence: that your brand finally belongs in the category your work already aims at.

Brand strategy & art direction

My name is Thomas, and I founded Kilvern. My work always starts in the same place: a well-made object, and a brand that fails to tell its story.

I see that gap everywhere. A perfumer composing remarkable accords with a website from 2014. A knifemaker trained for ten years whose logo was drawn in an hour. A chocolatier whose packaging betrays the quality inside. These brands lack neither talent nor ambition. They lack translation.

That's why Kilvern exists. I bring strategic thinking and visual execution under one roof, which removes the costly back-and-forth between a consultant who thinks and a studio that draws. One person carries the project from the first brief to the source files.

I work from the French Riviera, with French and international brands. The studio is async-first: deliverables land in a shared folder with a recorded walkthrough, your feedback happens in writing, and your calendar stays yours. Some engagements include live sessions when they genuinely add something. The rest of the time, writing is sharper, more considered, and it can be re-read.

My

Way of working

(01)

Taste over trends

An identity that follows fashion goes out of fashion. I look for what holds for ten years, not what pleases for six months.

(02)

Strategy before aesthetics

No mark is drawn before the positioning is written and signed off. That's what makes visual choices defensible.

(03)

Recognisable by design

A brand that looks like its competitors has no identity. I look for the territory nobody occupies.
